Stop Omarchy

Omarchy is a political movement disguised as a Linux distro. Over $18 million dollars from powerful men and companies are funding it.

The Facts:

NOTE: An asterisk (*) marks names listed on Omarchy's official patrons page, people and companies directly funding the project.

None of this is "apolitical." It is organized, well-funded far-right extremism. And it will continue to spread and normalize if we do not push back.

Companies & Projects to Boycott:

These companies and executives are directly funding Omarchy and Omacom:

* Listed as a patron on omarchy.org/patrons.

For companies whose executives personally fund Omarchy, and other companies flagged as complicit, see the extended list.

Omarchy's Patrons:

Because 18 million dollars isn't enough for some people, below the executives and corporate sponsors is a much longer list of supporters. Omarchy's open patron program lists hundreds of smaller backers alongside executives, for example:

See Omarchy's patrons page for the full backer list. I've attempted to include any and all prominent figures and developers, mostly to demonstrate how Omarchy has been normalized, not cherry-pick.

What You Can Do:

People to Avoid:

These people are donors to Omarchy, listed on the patrons page.[10] Additional people flagged by Fashware and Drew DeVault's "Weird little guys of FOSS", community research lists of far-right-enabling technology, are on the extended list.[25]

Individuals

* Listed as a patron on omarchy.org/patrons.

Additional individuals flagged by community research, but not listed as Omarchy patrons, are on the extended list.

Hope Is a Discipline.

Anger is fuel, but we need to do the work of repair. We must tether grief and rage to concrete, hopeful action[26].

I have a deep optimism for the world, and I believe people are inherently good, and that will not change because of a handful of weird little guys. We will always have the beauty of working forward towards good. We have the capabilities to build a better future together. We must not go gently into that good night.
